• College Classes in job related areas. This helps keep me tuned in on the advancements of the field. Things change very fast and it is easy to find yourself in the dust.
• Seminars in job related areas. The vendor seminars are usually cost free and can keep everyone up to date on the latest technology and problems that have been discovered with the old technology.
• Internet surfing in job related areas. This can help everyone in the industry discover similar problems with equipment and operations. Many times a problem can be resolved with more than one company working together. Often a problem is overlooked and people learn to live with it, simply becasue they do not realize it is a problem. Some problems are assumed to be "normal operation". The Internet can often connect people and help resolve those problems.
• Member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) since 1996. This organization helps keep people up to date on the Information Technolgy field. They publish information about changing laws, computer viruses, Denial of Service attacks and many other things that can help keep me informed.
