Breast Cancer Blocks

I assume that after I put in an order for the number of FQs then they send me the fat quarters I will forward the fat quarters to the participants in my group...with an included return address. They make a 9 1/2" block out of the fat quarter....anything they want. Then they sent the block back ... using the return address. Pauline

We have 6 signed up for these....luvsquilts, stacia, paintrquilt, me, iluvtoknit, & Maj

Hi Cathy,
First, if you have any questions, please ask. I will try my best to answer them.
Most of the info about the breast cancer research fund quilt blocks should be in the letter that you got from Janet. I talked with Ellen, owner of Honey Fork Fabrics in Ohio. She told me that she will send one FQ for each of our members who wish to participate. It will be focus fabric. So I assume that we add a bit of fabric to it to make our 9 1/2 inch block. We can make one or more, it doesn't matter. The block are then sent directly to Ellen. They have arranged for a "quilt-in" where the blocks are set together and quilted. The quilts are then auctioned off and 100% of the money received goes to the research fund.
I guess we should start by finding out how many in each group wants to do a block. Would you want to start on that? Find out who all of the Queens are and email them. Feel free to copy my letter/letters so they have all the necessary information. They can then get a head count as to how many in their prospective groups wants to do a block. I will get an email out to my ladies tonight. Once we have gathered that information, I will get the snail mail addresses of the Queens from Marge and email them to Ellen along with how many in each group she will need to send FQs for. AND that is that---Ellen will mail each Queen the necessary FQs and the Queens will be responsible for getting the FQs to their group members.
Does this sound ok to you? If you have an idea, toss it my way. We can compare notes and see what works best.
Go here and see what Ellen has on the web site....it is very touching

Happy to have you onboard for this....hope to hear from you soon

Good morning Cathi,
Just checking to see if you have emailed all the queens. If so, great!! If not, would you please include one more item in the email. Have each of them email me their snail mail addresses so that I can start getting the letter ready to send to Ellen. Thank you.
Hope you are having a great day.
Happy quilting,
Connie
